The National Council for Family Affairs, in cooperation with the Ministry of Interior and UN Women, and with support from the Ministry of Interior, concluded a specialized training program on Saturday on the updated version of the "Ministry of Interior Employees' Guide to Dealing with Cases of Gender-Based Violence, Domestic Violence, and Child Protection." The program included three training courses targeting administrative governors and employees at the Ministry of Interior, training them on the procedural guide for dealing with cases of gender-based violence, domestic violence, and child protection, in accordance with the new amendments to the original version of the guide issued in 2020.
The guide, the first of its kind as a specialized procedural guide at the Ministry of Interior, aims to clarify and organize the workflow procedures for service delivery by the Ministry when dealing with targeted cases, saving time and effort, facilitating review, auditing, and supervisory processes, and standardizing forms. This facilitates the workflow and exchange of information within the Ministry, while also establishing coordination and referral mechanisms with various institutions to reach a common understanding that supports case management and the provision of necessary services in a professional and competent manner. The program, which targeted approximately 75 male and female trainees, addressed the most prominent features of the guide, including definitions, objectives, guiding principles, methodology, and scope of work. It also reviewed the role of the Ministry of Interior in dealing with cases of violence, the tasks and responsibilities of those handling these cases, and the most prominent procedures followed in dealing with cases referred to governorate centers and districts. The training also included practical case studies to understand the process of dealing with cases of violence, whether those referred directly to the administrative governor or referred to him from any relevant official body.
