The Ministry of Interior, based on a recommendation from the Ministry of Health, has decided to ban entry to the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan for all arrivals from the Democratic Republic of Congo and the Republic of Uganda, with the exception of Jordanian citizens. This is a temporary precautionary measure for a period of 30 days, effective May 20, 2026, in light of the epidemiological developments related to the spread of the Ebola virus in both countries.

The decision was based on the recommendations of a meeting held on May 18, 2026, with the participation of the Ministry of Health, represented by the Epidemiology Department, the National Center for Epidemic and Communicable Disease Control, and a representative from the World Health Organization in Jordan, to discuss the latest epidemiological developments and the necessary preventive measures to protect public health.

The relevant authorities confirmed that the decision is in accordance with the provisions of the Jordanian Public Health Law No. 47 of 2008 and its amendments, and aims to take the necessary preventive measures to prevent the entry and spread of epidemics and communicable diseases.
